My dad, who's blog is Bob's Dribbles, wrote a blog about looking back on President Obama's inaugural speech. He basically stated that he was the most important president in his 46 year life, I am 18 and have only lived through three presidents but I have to agree with wise father this one time. President Obama has already shown that he means business when it comes to helping this nation regain its status at the same time lessening our negative impact on our environment. He has also shown great enthusiasm in mending or gaining international friendships with other countries.
I am also glad to see that our president has finally realized that Iraq apparently does not have any Weapons of Mass Destruction, and has finally focused our troops to Afghanistan where they might actually do some good, or at least have a purpose for being there. I am not saying that I am pro-war, but I do realize how difficult of a position it is to be the president of a nation and therefore the hard decisions are laid upon his/her shoulders. That person has to do what he/she thinks is best for the nation and, "surprise, surprise!" They turn out to be human and sometimes make mistakes.
We have to stop criticizing our leaders, like we could a better job than they could and start supporting them. We need to provide them with the best information we can to help them make the most important and difficult decisions they will probably ever make in their lives.
